What are they?
A workplace culture survey is a tool that gathers opinions, experiences and thoughts from employees about the company’s performance. In order to continually improve the organisation and its results, an employer needs to understand what their employees have to say about their workplace, and what they think could be improved to make the company a better place to work.
The results of culture surveys are used to:
- evaluate and improve the business and leadership strategies,
- determine any organisational changes needed, and
- identify and make behavioural changes.
Why do they matter?
If employees are happy, they will be more productive, and, ultimately, the business will be more profitable. Your customers are bound to love it too. A positive corporate culture is reflected in all aspects of the business, from services to customer service.
That said, building a great workplace culture is impossible overnight, as change takes place over time. However, asking employees simple survey questions to understand where you are can help you determine how your workers feel.
So if you’re a business that is eager to grow whilst either maintaining or improving employees’ performance and motivation, then this is definitely for you. .
Ideally, workplace culture surveys should be conducted at least once a year, with pulse surveys (a shorter survey) conducted every quarter. At least this way you’ll know how you’re doing and where you need to focus your efforts.
